📜Terms of Service

The deal between
you and Beaverise.

Plain-English version of the legal agreement. Nothing tricky, nothing buried. If something here ever surprises you, write to us and we'll explain.

Effective: June 19, 2026Last updated: June 19, 2026

1. The basics

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are the agreement between you and Beaverise Inc. ("Beaverise", "we", "us", "our") for your use of the Beaverise mobile and web applications, this website, and any related services (together, the "Service").

By creating an account, downloading the app, or otherwise using the Service, you accept these Terms. If you don't accept them, please don't use the Service.

2. Who can use Beaverise

You must be at least 18 years old to create a Beaverise account. The Service is built around real financial decisions, and we want a clear-headed adult on the other side of every action.

You're responsible for keeping your login credentials safe. If someone else accesses your account using your password, anything they do is treated as your activity until you tell us otherwise.

One account per person. You promise the information you provide at sign-up is accurate, that you'll keep it up to date, and that you'll let us know if you suspect unauthorized access.

3. What Beaverise actually does

Beaverise is an AI-assisted personal-finance app. We aggregate your linked bank and credit accounts, categorize transactions, build budgets and debt-payoff plans, surface tax-optimization insights, store documents you upload to a vault, and provide a conversational AI assistant ("Beaver") that answers questions about your money.

We are not a bank. We don't hold deposits, we don't issue loans, and we don't make trades on your behalf. Where the app surfaces actions (like an autopayment recommendation), the action is executed through our integration partners, with your explicit approval.

4. Your account

Account creation requires a working email address and a strong password (or sign-in through a supported identity provider). You can enable biometric unlock on supported devices.

You're responsible for the security of the email and recovery options associated with your account. If you lose access to those and can't pass identity verification, we may not be able to restore access, even for you.

You can delete your account at any time. See our Account Deletion page for the full process and timeline.

5. Subscriptions and billing

Beaverise offers a free tier and paid tiers (Pro and Ultra). Current prices and what each tier includes are listed on the pricing section of beaverise.com. Prices may change with at least 30 days' notice for existing subscribers.

Subscriptions are billed through Apple's App Store or Google Play, on a recurring monthly or annual basis. The app store you bought through handles payment, renewal, refunds, and cancellation; you can manage your subscription in your device's subscription settings.

If we offer a free trial, you'll be charged at the end of the trial period unless you cancel before it ends. Refunds for in-app purchases are handled by the app stores under their respective policies.

AI credit top-ups and one-time consumable purchases are non-refundable once consumed.

6. Bank connections through Plaid

Connecting a bank account is optional. When you choose to connect, you authorize us to use Plaid (a regulated financial-data aggregator) to fetch account information on your behalf. Plaid handles the secure connection; your bank credentials never touch our systems.

The connection is read-only by default. We can see balances, transactions, holder details, and institution metadata. We can't move money out of any linked account without your explicit, per-transaction approval.

You can disconnect any linked bank inside the app at any time. When you do, we call Plaid's removal endpoint to invalidate the access token and delete the cached data we have for that institution.

7. Beaver AI is information, not financial advice

Everything the Beaver AI assistant tells you is educational information based on your linked data and publicly available rules. It is not licensed financial, tax, legal, accounting, or investment advice. You should consult a qualified professional before making material financial decisions.

We run every answer through multiple AI models and our own guardrails, but AI can still make mistakes, miss context, or surface outdated information. You are responsible for verifying anything important before acting on it.

Where the AI cites a rule, limit, or rate, treat it as a starting point. Tax rules in particular change frequently and vary by jurisdiction.

8. What you can't do

You agree not to: (a) use the Service for anything illegal, fraudulent, or that violates someone else's rights; (b) reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the app or its underlying models; (c) scrape, harvest, or attempt to access non-public APIs; (d) impersonate another person or create an account on behalf of someone without authorization; (e) interfere with the Service's normal operation, abuse rate limits, or deliberately submit malformed input designed to break our systems.

You also agree not to upload to the Vault any content that you don't have the right to upload, that contains malware, that violates someone else's privacy, or that depicts illegal activity.

We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if we reasonably believe you've broken these rules.

9. Your content

Anything you upload (receipts, leases, policies, messages to the AI) is yours. You keep all ownership and rights to it.

By uploading content, you give us a limited license to store it, process it (including OCR, AI analysis, and indexing), and show it back to you so the app can do its job. This license ends when you delete the content or your account.

We don't sell your content. We don't use it to train public AI models. See our Privacy Policy for the full picture.

10. Our content and brand

The app, website, designs, code, AI prompts and pipelines, brand assets (including the beaver mascot and the "Beaverise" name), copy, and any other materials produced by us are owned by Beaverise Inc. and protected by intellectual property law.

You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for its intended purpose. You don't get a license to copy our designs, reuse our brand assets, or build a competing product on top of our work.

11. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy describes what we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it. It's incorporated into these Terms by reference.

If anything in the Privacy Policy contradicts these Terms with respect to handling of your personal information, the Privacy Policy controls.

12. Suspension and termination

You can stop using Beaverise at any time. To remove your data along with your account, follow the Account Deletion process.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, if we're required to by law, if your activity puts other users or our systems at risk, or if the account has been inactive for an extended period. Where reasonable, we'll give you notice and a chance to fix the issue first.

Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, governing law) survive termination.

13. Disclaimers

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We don't guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure against every conceivable attack, or that the information it surfaces will be accurate, current, or complete. We don't guarantee any particular financial outcome.

Beaver's projections (debt-free dates, savings forecasts, tax estimates) are illustrative. Real-world results depend on factors outside our control.

14. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Beaverise will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, savings, data, or goodwill arising out of or related to your use of the Service.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) one hundred Canadian dollars (CAD 100).

Some jurisdictions don't allow these limitations. To the extent they don't apply to you, our liability is limited to the smallest amount permitted by the applicable law.

15. Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold Beaverise harmless from any claim, demand, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from (a) your use or misuse of the Service, (b) your violation of these Terms, or (c) your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.

We'll let you know promptly if a claim is brought and will cooperate reasonably in the defence.

16. Disputes and governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.

If we can't resolve a dispute informally, you and Beaverise agree to resolve it by binding individual arbitration administered by ADR Chambers, in English, seated in Toronto, Ontario, unless local law in your country of residence requires otherwise. You waive any right to participate in a class action, class arbitration, or representative proceeding, except where prohibited by law.

Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction to protect intellectual property or confidential information.

17. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes we'll notify you in the app or by email at least 30 days before the change takes effect, and we'll update the "last updated" date at the top.

Continued use of the Service after the change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms. If you don't accept, please stop using the Service and delete your account before the change takes effect.

18. Miscellaneous

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any in-product disclosures, are the entire agreement between you and Beaverise about the Service.

If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a right isn't a waiver of that right.

You can't assign these Terms without our written consent. We may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

Any provision that's required by your country of residence and not otherwise reflected here will apply to the extent legally required.
